Iverhart Plus is the flavored chewable tablet which is given on monthly basis to protect dogs against the heartworm disease and also to control zoonotic roundworms and hookworms. Iverhart Plus is even safe for puppies as old as six weeks. It is also safe for pregnant or nursing pets. Iverhart Plus eliminates the Diro filarial immitis which is the tissue stage of the larvae of heartworm. Also it is used for treatment and control of hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum, Ancylostoma braziliense, Uncinaria stenocephala) and ascarids (Toxascaris leonina , Toxocara canis). It is advised to test your dog for any existing heartworm before starting giving Iverhart Plus as it is not effective in case of adult D.immitis. All infected pets should first be treated so as to remove the adult heartworms and also the microfilaria before starting the treatment with Iverhart Plus chewable flavored tablets.

Directions

Take out one tablet from the packing and give it to your dog. Due to its flavor, dogs can easily take it even if you place it on your hand. But if they don’t take swallow it directly then mix it with dog food. Once the tablet is given make sure to observe the dog so as to ensure that medicine is swallowed and not rejected by your dog. If the dose is rejected, immediately give more dosage.

Side Effects/Precautions

During the clinical trials with ivermectin/pyrantel,only 1.1% of administered doses were reported to suffer from diarrhea vomiting within 24 hours. On the other hand, ivermectin can cause some side effects like diarrhea, vomiting, depression, anorexia, ataxia, convulsions, staggering and hyper salivation in rare cases.
